Is moissanite the same as a diamond?
No. Moissanite is its own gemstone, made of silicon carbide, while a diamond is made of carbon. Moissanite is very hard and shows more rainbow sparkle than a diamond. From a normal distance, most people cannot tell the two apart.

Will moissanite pass a diamond tester?
Many basic heat testers can read moissanite as a diamond, because both stones move heat in a similar way. Newer testers that also check electricity can tell them apart. We always describe these stones as moissanite, never as diamond.

Does a gold plated moissanite bangle tarnish?
The moissanite stones keep their sparkle and do not fade. The 14K gold plating is made to resist tarnish, but water, sweat and lotion can wear it down over time. Keep the bangle dry and wipe it with a soft cloth to keep the gold bright.
